Seafreight Clearances - How does it work in Australia?

  • You purchase your stock from overseas and your goods are packed and placed within a container at your supplier’s location
  • The container is delivered to the origin wharf and placed onboard a ship to bring your goods to Australia
  • If the goods are made from wood they need to be fumigated prior to shipping
  • Lucent Logistics needs seven items to be emailed to us to proceed
             1/ Commercial Invoice for the goods
            2/ Bill/s of Lading
            3/ Packing List
            4/ Packing Declaration
            5/ Photos of the goods
            6/ Letter of Authority completed and nominating Lucent Logistics to clear your 
                goods for you upon arrival
             7/ Fumigation Certificate
  • Whilst your goods are travelling to Australia, we will be busy pre-clearing them through Australian Customs and Quarantine Service
  • Once the container arrives at the wharf and has been offloaded from the vessel, Lucent Logistics will collect the container within three days to avoid wharf storage fees
  • Lucent Logistics will collect the container from the wharf and arrange delivery to you for unpacking.  We are able to unpack for you if required, but you will need to advise us in advance and we will quote you for unpacking accordingly
  • If your address is not metropolitan then Australian Quarantine will inspect your goods before allowing Lucent Logistics to deliver your container to you
  • Once your container is empty, Lucent Logistics will return the container to the nominated depot within a timely manner to avoid any additional costs
